Conversion
Why most websites don't convert (and how to fix it)
Most sites get traffic. Very few turn that traffic into customers. Here are the five reasons that keep coming up — and what to do about each one.

Most websites have a call-to-action somewhere. The problem is it's below the fold, low-contrast, or phrased so vaguely that visitors scroll past it without registering it exists. If your primary action isn't visible within 3 seconds of landing, you've already lost most of your traffic.
2. The value proposition isn't clear
Visitors don't know what you do, who it's for, or why they should care — within the first sentence. If your hero copy starts with your company name or a generic tagline, you're asking people to do work you should be doing for them.
3. Page speed kills conversions quietly
A 1-second delay in mobile load time can reduce conversions by up to 20%. Most site owners don't know their load time. Fewer know what's causing it. Unoptimised images, render-blocking scripts, and poor Core Web Vitals scores are the most common culprits.

4. There's no trust signal near the action
People hesitate before clicking. The moment of hesitation is where conversions die. A single testimonial, a logo strip, or a simple guarantee placed near your CTA can meaningfully increase click-through rate.
5. Mobile experience is an afterthought
Over 60% of web traffic is mobile. But most sites are designed desktop-first and tested on mobile as an afterthought. Tap targets too small, text too small to read, forms that are painful to fill — any of these will silently destroy your conversion rate.
